Your stay – Spanish

At Cornerstone International Community College of Canada (CICCC) we value quality, safety and student satisfaction.

We understand that moving to a new place can be challenging, especially when it comes to finding affordable and suitable accommodation. That’s why we advise our new students to start exploring their housing options well ahead of time, to make thoughtful and well-informed decisions.

Please, keep in mind that housing management is the student’s responsibility, as well as any communication they may have with housing providers.

To help you research and start planning, we’ve gathered a few housing options to serve as reference for your decision-making.

Homestays offer the opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture on a daily basis. In this option, students live with a host family for a chosen period, providing a unique experience. This arrangement is especially advantageous for newcomers, offering the flexibility to try it out, extend their stay, or use it as an initial landing place.

Currently, we have a partnership with Quality Homestay, a company with a 25-year tradition that prioritizes effective communication. They provide competitive prices and, notably, no relocation fees. This commitment has led to an impressive user satisfaction rate of over 90%

Student Housing / Residences:

For those seeking a more independent experience, student housing could be a good choice. These residences will offer you a private bedroom and common areas that may include a kitchen, a living room, a dedicated study area, a laundry room, and more.
It’s worth noting that pricing and availability may vary, so be sure to plan ahead.

Please, keep in mind that CICCC does not provide student housing or placement services at the moment.

Short-Term Subletting or Vacation Rentals:

Subletting involves temporarily residing in someone else’s rental space and paying them rent. This can include subletting the entire place or just a specific room.
It is advisable to sublet from individuals who come recommended by someone you trust, considering the informal nature of this arrangement.

Vacation rental websites, such as Airbnb, can be a fantastic option if your budget allows. These platforms typically feature pre-screened listings with customizable options for dates, locations, and durations, providing flexibility and convenience for your accommodation needs.

Renting your own place:

Many people prefer the freedom of renting or leasing apartments or rooms as it allows them to find options that suit both their lifestyle and budget.

The term ‘lease’ is synonymous with ‘tenancy agreement,’ serving as a legal document outlining the rights and responsibilities of both the tenant and landlord/owner. To explore available rentals, websites like Craigslist and Kijiji can be valuable resources.

When contemplating accommodation options, it’s crucial to consider factors such as location, proximity to your institution, budget, lifestyle preferences, and any other specific needs you may have.

We sincerely hope you’ll find the option that suits you best!
