Private Medical Insurance for International Students
Private medical insurance is an important consideration for international students, especially when they are not covered by their parents or any government insurance. Private medical insurance can be more expensive than public health care, but it also offers more benefits.
The most common type of private medical insurance is a student’s private health plan. This type of policy covers the individual and their dependents and doesn’t require any pre-existing conditions or exclusions in order to enroll. We highly recommend having private insurance for the first 3 months after your arrival to Canada.
